Release of new EP: Greyscale 01

Greyscale 01 black

“Greyscale 01″ is the second in the Color/Greyscale EP-series.

Featuring a blend of new and older tracks, this is the first EP in the Greyscale side of the series. However, as you might gather from the artwork, this is a particularily colorful Greyscale release :) From the opening track all the way to the closing title, the EP focuses more on the dubby side than the technoid aspect that usually follows Greyscale; this is more of a crossover of straight up dub, electronica and house.

01 – Unknown Cause – D_beaut
02 – Unknown Cause – Tømtedubb
03 – Unknown Cause – The White Rhino
04 – Unknown Cause – Sunday Strategies

Greyscale 01 will be available in all major digital outlets from 15/09/2015.

Release of new EP: Color 01

Color 01

“Color 01″ is the first in a series of EP`s planned for release this year.

The release is a collection of four tracks from the earlier productions of Unknown Cause. Some of these tracks were originally thought to be part of “Color/Greyscale”, but due to their highly energetic personalities they worked better as part of a solo release.

The tracks on “Color 01″ represents an early picture of Unknown Cause`s style, influenced by trancey atmospheres mixed with housey vibes. The EP traverses the energetic and fierce, into darkness and mystery, and ending in melodic melancholy.

01 – Unknown Cause – Acid Melody
02 – Unknown Cause – Going Totally Svartkulp
03 – Unknown Cause – Death by Cowbell (Stay the Course)
04 – Unknown Cause – Mile after Mile

Tou can download the track “Mile after Mile”  as a high-quality FREE download from my Bandcamp! Just enter “0” in the “name your price” box. Enjoy!

Cause for a diary…

The summer is coming to it`s end, and what a beautiful summer it has been. Here are some pictures from the various festivals and parties I`ve been lucky to perform at:

MSF Preparty Seeds Oslo 7-02-14Midnight Sun pre-party @ Seeds in Oslo 07/02/14. Finishing up my liveset right before Carbon Based Lifeforms takes over. February ain`t strictly speaking summer tough, forgive me for that.

TechnotribeTechnotribe presents: “Avantgarde” was a forest-party just outside oslo. Great vibes and a nicely varied lineup. My first forest-party this year; still pretty chilly in the very beginning of May :) And for your information, summer in Norway begins in May in our minds, to make the winter feel a little shorter.

Midnight Forest FlyerMidnight Forest Another pre-party for Midnight Sun Festival; this time in the forest just north of Oslo. Great party presented by my homeboys NorPsy in association with Arctic Light.

Sehr Schön“Sehr Scön Festival” in Arendal, in the southern part of Norway. Such a beautiful location, awesome weekend filled with great music and some of the best weather Norway can provide. I really had a blast!

I played 3 sets at this festival, a “Color” set (picture above), a “Greyscale” set that I don`t have a picture from, and a set from good old Fragletrollet (pictures and a short video below)Fragletrollet LiveFragletrollet Live 2

A month later

…and it has been an amazing feeling to finally let go of the album. To honestly say to my self that I finished something I`ve been working on for probably the longest period any project has taken me.

…just to realize only half of the work is done when actually releasing an album; promotion and actually getting the music out to the listener is a totally separate job than noodling away in the studio, but maybe just as important. But we surely have gotten our feet into these new waters: Color/Greyscale is now available for purchase on Bandcamp, Beatport, iTunes and all other digital outlets. Physical stock available in most music-outlets throughout the Oslo area in shops like Platekompaniet, Tiger, Filter, Soundgarden and many more.
